While continuing to cast metal sculpture from lost-wax and fabricate others with basic constructivist techniques, I am also using more found objects–particularly metal implements found in flea markets in Spain–deconstructing and manipulating them in order to create works in an assemblage fashion, while avoiding recognizable elements tinged with the visual baggage of their previous function. Rather, I use them formally in both 2-D and 3-D, combining different media to forge new approaches, new paths, new priorities.
